Our monthly Suburb Snapshot is designed to give you a quick and easy overview of how far $650,000 or less could take you in the current Auckland real estate market.
Each month we profile a home in New Lynn, Te Atatu South, Mt Wellington, Otahuhu and Glenfield.
It’s true – these properties probably won’t meet your criteria of a dream home, but what they do represent is an excellent stepping stone onto the Auckland property ladder.
Data has been sourced from Barfoot & Thompson and includes reports of sales made by most real estate agencies.

I reckon this was a good buy for the purchaser!
103A Manuka Road, Glenfield - $518,000
If you’re a fan of Glenfield the market would have been tough to you in September. Of the twenty-two homes which sold, only one property sold for less than $650,000. And it appears to have been 400 square metre section.
Despite digging around I’ve been unable to find the original listing online, so we are going blind this month. It was perhaps what is called a ‘list and sell’, where the property is listed with an agency but sold before it hits the open market.
Be sure to check out our Suburb Snapshot next month for an update on Glenfield.
